Cannabis Infused Love

You can spice up your V-Day with more than just flowers and chocolates this year; Vela has three different cannabis-infused lubricants for you to explore. Where to begin?

The Basics:

Like other cannabis topicals, it takes 20 to 40 minutes to feel the full effects and the feeling will last between 2 and 4 hours. When applied vaginally, you’ll feel tingles and increased sensitivity, usually without the “high” effect felt from inhaling or ingesting cannabis.

Cannabis lubricants can create new sensations in familiar places. They may also strengthen and lengthen orgasms in women. If used orally or anally, the THC is more likely to enter your bloodstream, so you will likely experience a full body high and/or head buzz. In other words, when used vaginally, the sensations are more localized; when used anally or orally, be mindful of the quantities used because you’re more likely to feel the psychoactive effects.

Sounds simple enough, right? But if that’s all there is to it, why are there so many different kinds of lubes out there? It’s because, like cannabis, different lubes offer different benefits. And because everyone’s body chemistry is different, your response to one may be different than another. Here, we break down the basics, then it’s up to you to play.

Velvet Swing - 100mg THC, 33mg CBD

Professional dominatrix, Mistress Matisse, began using cannabis in her personal sex life a couple years ago and noticed profound pleasure-enhancing effects. Once she recognized the amazing benefits of cannabis for sex, she wanted to share it with everyone, so she decided to start a line of cannabis products specifically crafted for sex. She called it Velvet Swing, after a charming sexual euphemism from the 40s.

Velvet Swing uses a proprietary water emulsion cannabis suspension, which means it's oil free, non-irritating, pH balanced for vaginas and free of parabens, glycerin, and propylene glycol.

Water-based lubes are easy to clean up and to wash out of clothing or sheets. Velvet Swing is condom safe and toy safe.

BOND – 150mg THC (& 14mg THC trial-size)

If you’re looking for a long-lasting, luxurious silky feeling lubricant, BOND might be for you. BOND is carefully made from organic liquid coconut oil and ultra-refined natural cannabis oil. If you’re tempted to taste it, you can, but keep in mind this potent little bottle contains 150mg of THC and will kick in like an edible if ingested.

Oil-based lube is great for giving massages and self-play. If you’re thinking about using an oil-based lube, there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind. Oil-based lubricants are not safe to use with latex condoms. They can also be harder to wash off toys and skin, so be ready for a little extra clean-up afterward.

Multiple stages of quality control ensure consistency and accurate dosing in the final formulation of BOND. Every batch is lab-tested for potency and is entirely free of contaminants as certified by the Washington Department of Agriculture.

O-Lube - 140mg THC, 30mg CBD

O-Lube is a silicone-based lube specially formulated for people with sensitive skin. It provides a long-lasting glide that won’t become sticky or dry. O-Lube’s formula uses ultra-pure ingredients that leave skin smooth and soft. It also has a mild sensual aroma.

Silicone-based lubes have a very unique, silky feel. They are also hypoallergenic, so it’s a great choice for lube users with sensitive skin or allergies. Because silicone lubes often last longer, they  can be reapplied less often and are also great for water play. Unlike water-based lubes that would wash off in the shower or tub, silicone lubes stay where you apply them.

Like water based lubes, silicone lubricants are also latex safe and generally toy safe, though you should not use them with silicone toys as they can break down the rubber over time.
